This transition has been on -going for a long time. To see an example all you have to do is look at EggHead Discount Software. Egghead software started as a brick and mortar company in 1984 and in 1998 closed it doors to become what they are in the present day a Discount Virtual Software store For more information you can go to this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egghead_Software .

I remember in the late 80's early 90's that if you wanted software you would look no further than Egghead Software, Inc. Now well, if you don't buy software online you more than likely paid to much.
